Watch free streaming cricket video highlights from the third day of the Perth Test Match – India versus Australia played on January 18, 2007.

Another riveting day’s cricket that saw the game already into the last innings of the test match by the end of the Day 3.

The rapid nature with which this test match seems to be heading to a result is quite extraordinary cos usually when this happens it means one side has been dominating quite severely.

Virender Sehwag and Irfan Pathan held out the old cliché – better late than never – justifying their selection into the Indian team. Just the fact that they scored so fast ensured that despite some quick wickets India still looked far from a miserable state.

Brett Lee was at his champion bowler best. The word champion has been overused so much it nowadays sounds only fit for an energy drink advertisement. This is what you mean by an Australian fast bowler. Not a hyped Shaun Tait who bowled mainly in the 130s, that is, on the few occasions that captain Ricky Ponting gave him the ball. It’s really ridiculous to be shooting off your mouth that you are going to break all speed barriers only to turn yourself into a farcical version of Jeff Thomson.

There is an interesting verbal friendly sledging duel between Brett Lee and Irfan Pathan in this video highlights that’s waiting to load. Across three deliveries, it ends in a beautiful straight four by Pathan.

Lee bowled an extended 8 over spell and it worked cos he netted Sachin Tendulkar who was looking extremely calm through his short stint that included a breathtaking straight drive off Lee.

VVS Laxman has in the past played quite well with the tail, considering he bats at 6 most of the time. Watch a cricket video of him doing this against Australia in the first innings of the famous Eden Gardens test match in 2001. Another half century against the Aussies and quite a crazy partnership with RP Singh. Crazy because of the odd fluctuating decisions about when RP Singh would take strike each over. Anyway R P Singh played a superb knock that helped India set Australia a target beyond 350.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni looked terrible initially, scoring 5 runs off 44 balls. I know, I know. The situation and stuff. But to come in after lunch and let bowlers like Michael Clarke and Andrew Symonds look so good is ridiculous. He eventually went after them but got out to Symonds who bowled another two wicket over, getting Kumble. In case you’ve forgotten how M S Dhoni used to bat, check these free cricket videos out featuring highlights from some of his best innings.

The highlights here also include a session between Wasim Akram and Irfan Pathan. Right from the beginning of Pathan’s career, Akram has always been around to give him tips that no other left arm bowler can do with greater conviction. Why so? Well, watch these cricket video highlights of some of Wasim’s best performances here.

The Indian swing bowling by Irfan Pathan and RP Singh took care of the Australian openers, but Ricky Ponting in the absence of Harbhajan Singh looked quite good, playing some exquisite shots. In case you want to watch Ricky Ponting vs Harbhajan Singh, you can gratuitously do so here.
