Australia played better cricket overall and ensured the series went SA's way 3-2 rather than 4-1. Super knocks by Brad Haddin, Callum Ferguson and Herschelle Gibbs. SA looked to be heading for a successful 300+ chase until Gibbs fell, following which was an SA middle-order collapse.

Rain came between India making it a 2-0 series win rather than the eventual 1-0, though in test cricket you can never tell. Like seen in the Eng-WI test series

A nice hundred by Ross Taylor which prevented an NZ capitulation and forced a draw in the end. Sachin Tendulkar the bowler was also on show here.

Score: India 434/7 declared. NZ - 167/4 - Ross Taylor 69 no, Martin Guptill 49.

With a target of 617 NZ were unable to stick it out and apart from Ross Taylor and Guptill no one really displayed intent to guts it out or even attack. Zaheer and Harbhajan Singh bowled well, while Ishanth Sharma came under a Taylor assault. Rahul Dravid finally broke his dry run and overtook Mark Waugh for the highest number of test cricket catches.

NZ buckled under sustained intense bowling by Zaheer, Ishanth and Harbhajan. Eventually, only Ross Taylor with 42 resisted briefly. India lost Sehwag early into their 2nd Innings but lead by 233 runs going into Day 3. Barring ridiculous batting by India, this test and series seems headed to a premature end, India's way.

While Tendulkar was going India looked in supreme control until a flurry of wickets sent the game spiraling NZ's way. Lower order quick hitting ensured India had swung things back their way towards end of play. 375 - not too hurting from NZ's point of view but painful considering they had India down at 204/6 with Harbhajan in.
